"Don't close your eyes and don't try to hide or a silly spook may sit by your side shrouded in a daft disguise they pretend to terrorize grim grinning ghosts come out to socialize".
Can anyone guess where that phrase is from? I will give you a hint, it's played on one of the most popular rides at the happiest place on earth...you'd be correct if you guessed The Haunted Mansion, it's a classic and so much fun!
l normally try to convince my kids to chose theme costumes, but this year they weren't having it so I gave up and let them chose their own with no "mommy persuasion". My oldest chose the classic, Dracula. My middle one of course picked a Super Hero and my little princess actually didn't chose a princess this year she wanted to be a Witch! She decided on everything from the purple hair, to the cauldron, right down to the shoes that she begged me to buy her. How could I not though, they had sparkle heals! I already have ideas for next year, maybe we can compromise every other year mommy gets to chose? Who knows how much longer I have till they want to dress up!
trick or treat
Trick or treating is a big deal in our neighborhood. The houses are fairly close together and almost everyone participates in decorating and handing out candy. People travel from all over Brevard County, it's always a huge turnout. Neighbors give out hotdogs, snacks, juice boxes, water and candy of course. One house had a photo booth set up, another had The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown classic projected on a screen in their front yard. Lights, decorations and spooky haunted garages...it's truly a great time! We live in a very friendly community of all ages, my kids love it and we have made some great life-long friends here since moving in three years ago. I look forward to making more Halloween memories with my kids.
